Designing a Higher Capacity Automated Sample Changer for Superconducting Rock Magnetometers
Galilea von Ruden • Mentors: Joseph Kirschvink and Isaac Hilburn • Division of Geological and Planetary Sciences, Caltech
Through Caltech's Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF), I worked as the mechanical engineering student in a geology and paleomagnetism research lab and advanced the design and construction of an xy-stage sample changing system for a superconducting rock magnetometer.

The poster for my SURF final presentation, presented below, details my efforts and reflects my level of knowledge upon the completion of my Caltech frosh year and my SURF.
